Default Water clarity

Hi, why is it some reservoirs are comparatively clear most of the year and others have about a 12" of clear water before your rod tip disappears into the murk.

blithfield has always suffered from brown algae particulary during a warm spell as does rutland, probably due to run offs from farmland mike the old manager sometimes wouldnt stock for long periods when particulary bad (sensible)
