Tuesday 9th August saw the first of the Heather Flies at The New Watch Fishery and for the doz or so anglers that were there, it was simply fishing at its best. The Trout were going mad for the Heather flies and were moving all over the water. Also doing well was bibio, black beatle fished on long leaders. Our second Dawn till Dusk session will be on the 19th August 10pm to 6am:

They'll be heather flies.

Hawthorn fly Bibio Marci: Hatches start in April usually through until May





Heather Fly Bibio pomonae: Hatches start in July through until the end of August. Distinguishable from Bibio Marci by the red legs.
