Default Butterstone

Hi folks

We're off to Butterstone this weekend. Anyone fished it recently and can offer some info? I've not fished it for ages so looking forward to it.
Cheers

Hi Wiremill - Also on on Saturday - Normally fishes well to buzzers and dries - look out for the Heather Fly and fish bibio hoppers or snatchers.
Paul

Thanks Paul. The last time I fished Butterstone years ago, it was buzzers and nymphs, but the reports I'd heard recently were that it was all lures now. Maybe I've just been speaking to the wrong folk.

I hoped the heather flies might be on the go but reckoned it was maybe still a couple of weeks too early. Then again, with the weather we've had this year, anything could happen. Certainly doesn't look like we'll need the factor 50 this weekend.

Hi Mate - Hope you had a good day - As I said our club were on on Saturday - Me and my partner ended up with 12 to the boat, 10 of them on dries - Heather Fly Shuttlecock. + 2 on a Black & Red Snatcher.
Paul
PS - Hospitality was great - Owner bought all the members of the club a drink after the session was finished - Looking forward to my next outing.

Hi Paul

Our club had a good session, but I struggled. Only managed 4 and a couple of wee pike. Really enjoyed the day though and the fish scrapped really hard. Where were you fishing dries? I tried them for a couple of hours and only had a half hearted swirl.

We're booked up already for next year, even though the owner didn't buy us any drinks (although, to be fair most of the guys had had plenty by then anyway )

Cheers

I heard a rumour a few weeks ago that Butterstone are going to hike their prices up to £80 per boat for the coming season. It might just be 'hear-say' so thought i'd ask and see if anyone else has heard anything??

I really hope it is only a rumour as i love fishing Butterstone but simply wouldnt be able to afford to at these prices.

Our club stopped going to Butterstone because of the price hike this year and having to use their electric engines. If the prices go up again it is paramount to business suicide in these austere financial times.
