This might be the one that people are mentioning to you

http://www.jubileelakes.co.uk/

Its 15 miles or so from Coxhoe about 30 mins away.

If you click on the contact details you can get a map or directions.

Or theres http://www.hadrianequine.co.uk/fishing/fishing.htm

11 miles away and around 30 mins again

hi noel

how about

witton castle lakes - witton castle
aldin grange - bear park , nr durham
jubilee lakes - nr redworth
derwent resevoir
kiplin hall - nr catterick

these are all within about 30 mins drive from yourself , derwent maybe 45 mins .

kiplin hall nr catterick is my personal favourite , not a small stillwater but not large either , nice settings , plenty of fish in the range of 2lbs upto 10lbs , blues ,rainbows , browns , perch , pike and even chub i'm told .

drifting 3 buzzers in the wind with small little twitches works excellent , but keep hold of your rod as you'll lose it

Dave,

Those ponds are known as "Tursdale Ponds" and are course fisheries,
I know one used to be fished by Durham AC a few years back and I think
Ferryhill used to have the second one. They can be seen when heading
North on the A1M, just a few hundred yards away.

I think there are other places in the area that are mostly course fishing,
there is a small lake at Whitworth Hall, a couple of mile from Spennymoor,
click the following link to see the flashearth image:

Hope this helps
