Default Morton today

Fished MORTON for the first time in 20 years today and it was fantastic On a scorching day i had 14 from the boat and dropped a few and must say the place is chocca with fish. Id say the fish average was around 3lb and theres a few lumps in there as well. Buzzers and a weighted BLOB on the point for an anchor. Thanks again to JIM SKILLING for his welcome and was so helpful throughout the day , if you havent been up since its been taken over ,lift the phone ,HONESTLY its the bizz Thanks again JIM

Thanks HILLMOSER , yes it was a challenge but once youve found the method its like any other day i suppose. Dont get me wrong iv got a pocket of flies like a parrot ttring to crack it but a wee bit observation and were in I noticed that up by the TOWER there was always fish moving at any time of the day whether BRIGHT SUNSHINE,FLAT CALM, OVERCAST FOR A MINUTE AND WHEN THE WIND BLEW, and surmised theres a sunken feature whether its a HOLE ,A BANK or whatever and ofcourse i might be wrong . There was certainly some thing holding them and i just went through the methods and found they took the BLOB when it was at its brightest and as the cloud came over they came up and nailed the buzzers. This method worked all over the LAKE. As i type this im so looking forward to my next day on MORTON Im trying to imagine what it would be like on a NORMAL overcast day

Default Morton today

Don't think its a problem on the days you catch fish - is that not the point of fishing?

You have a great day when it all happens then you have a day it doesn't.

Good to hear Morton is getting back, last time we fished it was a couple of years ago and it was really poor.

Better stop offending folk with the catching business!!!

Managed up on Saturday night and fished from 4 until dark.
Didn't fancy my chances when I arrived as it was still very bright, however, I managed a couple almost straight away on an orange fritz on a DI3. As it's been most of the summer, it wasn't long before it clouded over and the fish were soon up on top. Got one on a black hopper fished static, but got more interest when stripping it in to cover another fish.
Ended up stripping the hopper across the ripple and got follows on almost every cast. Only got a couple to take the hopper, the rest took a kate mclaren fished behind it.
Ended up boating 12 with every fish in good nick and over 2lb. Biggest was around 4lb which had me down to the backing. Certainly a good number of fish in the water and no sign of the infamous weed.

Looks like the guys have got the place heading back to way it used to be many years ago. Fingers crossed there's enough interest from anglers to keep it ticking over.
