Allandale Tarn is fishing well regardless of all the fine weather we're finally having!
The first few hours in the mornings & also the last 5 or 6 hours in the evenings are still the most productive, but the afternoons are still providing some nice sport, especially when the cloud cover drifts over. Best flies are still the likes of skinny Blakestone buzzers, spiders, foam beetles & emerger CDC's for earlier in the day & later at night again. During the brighter spells in the afternoons, old favourites like the Damsels are working on & off along with various nymphs & traditional wets such as the Ace of spades, teal blue & silver & again foam beetles, but even these are tempting fish high in the water!
The separate Bait pool was fishing hard during the day for a while there, but the past few days it's been fishing consistently on & off throughout the day & evenings again! Favourite Baits have been a worn/corn combo or blue or orange Power Bait. Sometime virtually on the surface, others times with a float & 2 & 1/2ft leader.
Tight lines folks!
