Fished it last week,beautiful cold day,no one else there,perfect.Lots of fish topping but no joy on the bloodworm or any other nymph come to that!So desperation set in and out went a mini white cat's-steady medium fast retrieve and bang!4 fish,lost 4 as fishing barbless c&r, then my mate took an out of season Brown of about 4.5 lb! Huge spade tail,went like stink!
Really don't like using lures here as it's such a natural fishery,but it did the trick on what would have been a difficult day.
Now the weathers warmed up a touch,bloodworm should be a sure bet there.
