Royston,

Thanks for posting next season ticket details.

I have a couple of questions.

Why such a sharp increase in the Sporting ticket from boats?

I started fishing farmoor last season from a boat normally by myself. Due to this increase in price that will not be an option next year

If you are not taking fish home i personally can't see how you can charge the same price for an 8 fish ticket.

Is it because you want the sporting tickets to fish the Farmoor 1 next season?

Look forward to your reply,

Mark

I feel as a regular at Farmoor, and an angler who competes on many waters in the UK(Grafham Rutland Chew Eyebrook to name a few) the prices are very fair. I say this now because due to some hard work and an excellant stocking policy Farmoor is once again a Reservoir that offers some excellant sport with superb fighting and eating fish.
I look forward to casting many a fly over the next season and will definitely want a bash on Farmoor 1.

Royston, one small request can you release 1 brown trout with my name on it so I can let it go if I ever catch a Farmoor Brown !!!!!

Thumbs up

Look forward to having a go on F1!!

@Royston, will you be allowing any boats on it, bet there are some monsters in the deeps that have never seen a fly!

@Mark, can share the costsof car/boat if you, as long as you can put up with a Chelsea supporter for the day?

I'm sorry you feel the increase is unacceptable but we are driven by the comercial price and have to make increases where we feel it is neccessary. An 8 fish catch and kill from a boat for a day on your own is now £40.00
this is the same price as for two persons to fish catch and release. for one person catch and release it is £25.00.
As you fish catch and release on your own then your increase for the 08/09 year is £7.50.

I hope this makes it clearer.

All the best Royston

Royston,

Thanks for the reply.

It was just my opinion that's all.

In regards to the quality of the fishing Brundelfly is correct when he states that the fishery is up there amongst the best. Excellent top of the water fishing and i have witnessed some unbelievable rises last season. That's the reason why i choose to drive from South London up to Oxford instead of going to Bewl which is closer.Let's hope Farmoor 1 offers the same quality of fishing.

Vinnie,

I will take you up on that offer, thanks.

Im not bothered about sharing with a Blue as you are going to win sweet FA this season like us

Vinnie

Sorry only bank fishing for the forseeable future as we will need to place a pontoon on the res for the boats and the last one cost 25k. There are alot of changes in the pipe line and if all goes well boats will be deployed on F1 but I can't say when. If it helps I've wet a couple of lines on F1 recently and the fishing is pretty good and will be even better by April as all the fish naturalise.

I prefer to fish catch and release where possible and look forward to fishing F1 when it opens next year Royston. If you have no boats on it at present.......can we fish from a float tube pleeeeease.
All the best for Christmas,
Andy.

Andrew,

Being able to use a float tube is an excellent idea.

It's something i have only done once at Thornton but really enjoyed it.

Living in London though there are no waters reasonably close by that allows it. For that reason alone i think it would be a success at Farmoor.

Im sure there is probably some nightmare health and safety rules that would need to be adhered to though

Andrew
You are one of many that have asked for this facility and if it becomes possible we will let everyone know. As it stands at the moment there are some issues that need to be addressed by Thames H&S before we can move towards allowing any crafts on the water. The sailing activities on the res has been reduced to half of the area due to barley straw trials (algea control)which run for the next three years. I'm sorry I can't offer any hope of float tube fishing at Farmoor for the forseeable future.
Regards
Royston
