Can't comment on Lechlade, Browniebasher would be the man for that.

However the fish in Busheyleaze seem to respond well to damsels at this time of year. If your stood outside the lodge, facing the water. Walk down towards the area known a Woodstock pool. There are usually a lot of fish down that end as it gets warmer. As you've walked past Woodstock pool, past the trees. So as your facing the lodge, well it'll be slightly to the right. Pulling a White, weighted nymph seems to work well there.

When you get the urge to fish off the pontoon, as everyone does. If on the off chance. No one has gone clip clopping over it. Try casting to the end of it from the bank. Weighted red blob for there, walk forward onto pontoon and Wang out said blob as far as possible.

Hope this helps

Sean

Regarding Busheyleaze, I fished it a week ago and did well down in Woodstock pool, wading out and following a pod of stockies down the bank. They were hammering a small GRHE, twitched back just under the surface following the longest cast I could manage. I also took a couple of nice perch from the pontoon, casting parallel with the bank and stripping a small olive fritz/marabou creation along the drop off.

Good luck.

Lechlade is surprisingly, still fishing quite well. if the weather heats up too much more it'll go off, as it always does in August (to be fair to them they often close it in August so ring before you go). there are still a fair number of big browns in there and there's always a monster rainbow or two. (although the stock size is definitely down this season) try daddies or buzzers at this time of year, and don't ignore the bays and overhanging trees, this is where the fish will be.

I'd echo the other posters comments about bushy. in Woodstock there's a lot of natural springs which attract the fish like a magnet in hot weather. there are some mighty fish in there too. huge grown on beasties. i remember casting at a pod of at least 10 fish there last year. all were doubles for sure. the fish chased and chased, but i couldn't buy a take. white tadpole was the fly.

good luck.

Heading to Bushyleaze tomorow for first visit. Apparently allowed to wade (?) - hope so, day ticket still waters (non reservoir) back home there's no chance - they offer catch and release instead it seems...where as everywhere down near Glos seems catch and keep - there is a N/S divide !!

Fingers crossed for a cracking day (and a decent club house brew!).

Bushy was dire yesterday (4th Sept) 20plus bank anglers and only know of 3 fish caught (corixa for me). Fish seemed stressed or very pre-occupied. Boats did better in the middle on Zonkers.
