I fished last week and had a great day. caught the evening rise and had 6. CDCs. Water was fine. Suppose it's just the "luck of the draw".

From what the Bailiffs say most of the fish are being caught in the evenings.
Today we fished for 6 hours on a boat and never saw a fish to cast to and that goes for the other boats we spoke to as well. There was a good ripple and cloud cover. But nothing showing. No insects on the water and it is still very coloured.

Perhaps the fact that they don't have any tails to get themselves up to the surface didn't help?

They seem to have solved that one with improvements to the fish rearing ponds over the dam wall, but there is not a lot they can do about colored water and lack of insects during the day.

Went out for an evening during the week - there were plenty of fish about on top and were taking dries or traditional wets. Best area near the dam, off the boils or in front of the boathouse. On the tail less fish issue - I think Blithfields reputation goes before it on this one - much money has been put into improving the fish farm and, yes you still do get one or two poor fish (usually the larger ones) but, on the whole the fish are silver, have good tails and fight like tigers!
This is not the right time of the year to go afloat during the day and expect to see loads of fish on top. Adapt your tactis and a fish or two should be caught. Evenings are the best time unless you stick to the boils area.

Ian, Blithfield has a membership crisis why don't you join if its that good. Instead of coming on a SOTAS ticket. Foremark fishes well during the day thats were we go when Blithfield does not. Phil at Talyllyn sends his regards
