Default Little Heath Farm,(Gamlingay?), Beds.

Hello,

Has anybody out there fished this venue, and more specifically, fished it in the winter? I'm told a very pretty, peaceful place, but not heard much about the fishing.
Any pointers much appreciated,

Cheers.

I haven't fished it for 15 years. It is very pretty and quite deep in places so should be OK in winter.

It was catch and kill only, which makes it a no no for me.

I also have not fished it for a while.

If I recall correctly there is very little bank fishing. There is a deep trench on the opposite bank 20-30' from memory. The only real way to fish it is by boat.
I went with a party from work once and we had this bet that the first person to catch a fish would receive money that we had all clubbed together (I can't remember the exact sum). Anyway after half an hour the office junior piped up that he had a fish on. All the other eyes glanced round at each other from all three boats. When the fish was netted he showed everyone the fish and with a big smile asked for the money. Some clever so and so pointed out that the fish was a carp and ineligible therefore he was not entitled to the sum. When I remember that story I always smile accordingly.

It is also quite pretty.

I have no reason not to go back and now you have brought it to my attention I wil give it a go in the new year.
