Goldenloch June -27-11

Last Monday the 20th June was a very hot muggy day as was the Tuesday and Wednesday and the effects of those three days seem to have lasted all week, the fish just seem to be very lethargic and not that bothered, they are coming to the surface, they are chasing flies, they are jumping after flying flies, but they just seem to be very fussy , and the rise we were getting both in the morning and night time more or less calmed right down, those three days were very electrifying, and thunderstorms and lightning could be heard all around us there were large cracks and rumbling noises all the time, however people are still catching fish but not in the quantities that they were and I would also say that those fish that are getting caught are in the best of condition and are well fought after, most of the anglers in the last week have found the fishing to be the most rewarding of the year so far, but unfortunately some others have found it to be very frustrating, to-morrow Tuesday I have a big delivery arriving lets hope that they will stir up what’s in the loch and make some easier fishing, conditions at the loch just now are almost perfect with crystal clear water, water temperature around 12 degrees, weeds well under control and plenty of fish.
