Default Farmoor 6th Nov

NW about 7/8 mph, chilly when the sun went in, later on in the day.
Few fish moving when we arrived at nine so I fished the bung and had a fish quickly on the bottom dropper (10ft).Missed one more take, then nothing.
Set up slow intermediate with #12 grey minkie on point and #12 sparkle ptn six feet further up.Had another on the minkie, about 6ft down, then two more to the ptn in the afternoon. These fish were no more than 3-4 ft down and nearly took the rod out of my hand!Kept moving all along the far bank, better for morale this time of year!

Hi Gads,

Sounds as though you did pretty well at Farmoor. Did you discover what the fish were feeding on?

Hi Mugsy,
A bit of daphnia and some very tiny buzzers, not a lot really. The way they took the minkie and sparkly p.t.n suggested they were up for a good meal!
The only fry feeders I saw were well out of range, and were 'oncers'.
Worth a trip though; I saw two 5lb + fish cruising the margins and heard of several other good fish taken.
Good luck if you go,
Gads

Hi Gads,

Thanks for the gen. Last time I went to Farmoor they were feeding on daphnia and the odd small midge pupae but took minkies confidently - white ones in my case. I hope to get along there some time soon, but opportunites are somewhat limited at present.

All the best,

Mugsy
