Charliea1234 is on a distinguished road
Default Rib Valley

I had my first trip to Rib since it re-opened after the summer. It has reputedly been fishing well with quite a lot of 4-6lbs fish caught.

Having said that, the water is very coloured which reduces the chances of catching on nymphs a lot in my experience there. That was how it panned out with most of my fish coming on bright lures pulled in the top three feet. I had seven, best about 4-8 and missed a lot of takes.

In spite of that it was quite hard and I only had one fish in the first two hours but at 11.00 a lot of fish started to show and a switch to a washing line rig had pulls coming all the time for an hour or so and then it stopped just as quickly.

Best area was the left hand end looking away from the lodge at the lodge end. There are a couple of new platforms there where I caught all my fish.
