Default Ravensthorpe 25th October

Overcast with very light breeze NE veering E.Water cleared considerably since my last visit a couple of weeks back.Warden warns me it is difficult since last week's frosts, but that wasn't what it said on the AW website!
Enjoyed a blank despite trying very hard with various methods.Had takes on lures, the fish pulling all the way to the boat but despite stopping/speeding up they still wouldn't hook themselves.How can fish pull the rod tip round like that and not get hooked? I would live to see what they were up to;at times they were holding onto the lure for six, maybe seven seconds. I've experienced this before and normally just keep retrieving until they hook themselves, but not this time!
Three other boats on the water, one fish caught trailing...
