Default Hampshire, Ringwood.

I am down in the Ringwood area next week, and if anyone knows somewhere worth going for a few hours I would be gratefull for a heads up. I am not interested in the 'monster' fish scene, but need to travel light. Somewhere a 5 weight and a handfull of nymphs could see some action? Travelling light, and won't have the time for a long session. Any ideas?

Did you end up going to woodington?

If so, what did you think of it? River was a bit of a non-starter when I went there. Bit disappointing all round.

Default Woodington update.

I went, I saw, I caught some fish!
My thoughts? I only went catch and release, so couldn't fish the 'big fish' lake. Two other lakes were crystal clear and the 3rd looked like cheap instant coffee. Catching trout was easy. All were around the 2lb mark at a guess, possibly a bit under, and all peas from a pod. I will not complain, as all us chuckers of fluff either complain its too easy or too difficult! Saw a few dead trout in the bottom of one lake. Was going to point it out to the owner when I left but he was too busy arguing about the delivery of his range rover sport!
I agree, the river, or brook, was narrow and shallow though I did see a few trout in it. Didn't bother to put the waders on.
All in all, more fun than being with the rest of the family, but there are other places to try next time. If you are in the area and want to take a new guy along, he (she) will catch, so it's not so bad.
