Default Wimbleball any info please

Hi,
I'm planning to fish Wimbleball before the season ends. I'll be fishing from the bank so any advice on places to fish, lines to use or fly patterns would be much appreciated.
Thanks

£7.50 is a bargain for a day ticket.

I would head toward Bessoms bay.

I have always done well with either buzzers fished very slow or Catswhisker.

Hi WCB, thanks for the info.

Bessoms Bay isn't shown on my OS map. It shows Bessom Bridge, so is it in that general area, down from the fishing hut and left?

Any particular colour or type of buzzers?

Thanks

Yes it is and also opposite across the water.

The fish will be well spread anyway by now.

Black buzzers or DB work well size 12.

WCB

PS i might go up tomorrow.

Thanks again WCB,

I'm not sure if I'll make it tomorrow, but if you see a six foot, 17 stone bloke with his fly up a tree that'll be me!

Fished it Thursday from a boat, there are fish in Bessoms, Ruggs and the Sailing Club. Try a red ribbed Diawl Bach on a floating line and that fails a black lure fished slowly. Boat partner and I had 10 rainbows.

Thanks Bill,

I fished it yesterday from the sailing club round to beyond Bessoms bridge. I lost one on a damsel and had a couple of tugs on a cats whisker. I also tried black buzzers, diawl bachs (ordinary and holo green, not red), montanas (red & green), viva, black woolly ****** and black & green tadpole, unfortunately none of these produced a take!

It was a very bright day after the mist cleared and I didn't see anybody catch much but I suspect it might be more to do with my lack of experience on a water of this size - I'll keep plugging away, obviously a lot to learn yet!

Thanks again to you and WCB.
