hi there fellow fish catches well i got to the water at about 9.00am 29th of may got some info on how its fishing it has been fishing very well over the last 2 weeks and even better now they have just stocked it on 27th of may.stocked it with few thousand.from rainbows to browns ,blues, fish size from 1lb 2lb 3lb well ive looked at fishing there for over a week but its been far to windy.it was still windy today good cloud cover. i did try the float tube with dave but after id got in i was sent 400yds before dave got his fins on so i got uot and walk round to the pointwhere there was some cover from that strong wind.which had got very bad later it died and peoplecaught better. so i stayed on the doncaster point where one lad just caught 12 fish of good size from 1lb to 4lb he left at 11am just as i had walked there. to strong he siad it got ot much wind. so with the wind to my left i cast out.taking no notice.didnt catch nothing for hours but got one at 3.30pm there were others there. one lad had four rainbows and another had three. my friend with me dave had a good fish on but lost it in the surf. well it was to windy really but still im happy i tryed a gold hares ear.it worked i lost some too. well thats it for the moment bigphil

Didn't you try a "bread" fly in the area where walkers feed the ducks

well had another day on the res great weather just a touch of rain to the end at 4pm.i had two lost two.dave had one.he came late so didnt have the time i had but still nice to be out there.he float tubed it.I was on the bank.i started at the bay had my first one at 9.50pm.in the bay i was wishing i had come with my tube.as loads of trout taking but i couldnt get out to them.there were no wind when i started but at about 10.20am the wind started i couldnt get my fly out there.so walked to the doncaster point.bit of good shade from the wind there.i was still using red head dawl back. then nothing till 2.30pm ish dave was happy now he,d not blanked. the fish were there just not taking much.id tryed everything just about!! dave the same. by this time id walked down the arm and back.casting all the time. but just lost two.well got back to the point and got one at 3 ish.nice 2.5 ish.,dave on the other hand had his within ten mins of hitting the water.then lost three!.two of witch he blamed me!!!.cause my line was twisting up alot so i shouted and he looked and lost the fish one thing i should of tried was the lure.i will next time when ive got some off my mate. well thats it. accept, i was told by the rangers office.they have put 500 trout in every 2weeks.from march to sept.they said some 3lb mostly 2lb and 1.5lbs it fishers well normally,i must be just **** at fly fishing but im getting better.its nice out there and i had a great breakfast in there cafe to.you cant beat it

well i dont mind that at all i was going sat.now ive been pulled into fish at toft newton.they need the numbers to get good enuff so the meeting can be turned into a compation.its the bfta.so ill just have to thrash the old timersor maybe notill put it no here when i next go to thrybergh.its not great for some.but i float tube it and i can cover everywhere. i dont get people walking past with dogs.thats the only little thing when your on the bank. but on that point you can have great few hours.its local for me.im waiting for my new tube from the usa. then i can go on the water when it blowing a gail.why you might as.when its windy cast in the wind lanes thats were they wait.try it if you havent.i find that when fishing on big waters its hard sometimes to find the fish. they might gather where there is a hatch and you cant see it from to far.but when the wind is a bit strong. you just look in the lanes.you dont have to stay in doors.get an outcast prowler and you cast in those lanes from the right angle in almost any wind and your in and there nearly always there. well im off to bed soon so ill have alook round then im off.hope to fish with you

Exclamation Re: thrybergh reservior up date

hi people
just had another good day at thrybergh, me and dave had three each. I lost one on a orange blobnice day in total.caught on dawl bach, hopper, gold head nemph.dave used, tadpole, hairs ear, saw some swans and lots of young ducks.greebs as well. one tryed to take my hopper. well a little bad news.about the water.was told by the rangers office that there was some a couple of fish caught the other day.with red spot.I was told its due to stress.prob when they brought the last batch, when stocking it.water some times gets warmer than the water they are going into,it shocks them.they will get over it in a short time but till then.they are not stocking or letting any be killed unless they are really badly.then you bring the fish for rangers to take and do there quincy bit well there are catch and release.and its free fishing till its sorted.. all our fish we caught were fine to look at.not a spot or a mark.so ill just carry on fishing there next week.the ive got a comp at eyebrook 2july great stuff.bigphil

fished on tube today and the water was alive with fish rising.tryed everything i had nothing they were taking tinny midges off the top.there were 10 people at least did the same i lost one right at the end of my day,it was my doing.i struck to soon it hadnt quite taken it well dave had one but that was only hooked when he was reeling in hooked in the cheek thats about right.he beats me with that well its not new for me to blank his fish looked ok though it didnt have any signs of red spot the rangers say there hasnt been another fish caught with red spot for a week so touch wood it could of gone. its still free fishing so get down there for some extra practise
