I was there a couple of weeks ago whilst on a trip up the aberdeen and early morning and late in the day it was dries all the way..daddies and sedgehogs

mid day they all went down in he water and I used an olive bunny leech and got loads of knocks and pulls but not many resulted in hook ups..so maybe something with a shorter tail would have done better..but it was fun getting a pull a cast nearly

tha farthest pool away from the lodge (it was along narrowish pool) was good...the one that has trees all down one side...was dark peaty style water..it was chilly and the fish were pretty aggressive in there

sadly the weather has taken a turn for the worse now so dont know how dries will fare!

fished Insch this time of year for the last two years and flies and tactics where different each time, first year it was static suspender buzzers and last year it was olive wsw lure or similar although a lot of guys swear by the buzzer fished static just under a bung but I'm sure the fishery staff will keep you right on the day, hope this helps
ps if all else fails try a humungus it worked for me
