Carron Valley
Hi folks, i was out on Carron yesterday in blazing sunshine and a flat calm for most of the day. Not good conditions for fishing but still a very beautiul place to be. We fished the dam wall area on fast sinkers and intermediates for two hours pulling lures and boobies and other 'monstrosities' ( i wont go into details) with just a nips and tugs here and there. By lunch were were fed up chasing the rainbows and as a light breeze rippled the water we changed to floaters as fish started moving on the surface. As the afternoon progressed we started picking up nice browns with striking markings. When the wind died again it was an unbelievable sight . All over the loch were thousands of rising trout(presumably browns) as i think the bows were sulking a bit deeper. The boats that were out struggled in the conditions with only a few rainbows caught. Every day on Carron is a pleasure and my guest was in awe of its beauty.
Last day for the boats today although Fraser is keeping the bank open for rainbows until the 31st. If anyone was on today please post with details of the day. Much obliged.
Mark
