Default Packington reopens 29th. Sept.

Last year when it reopened it fished it's head off.

>> The Day Ticket water, Cocks Close will reopen on Saturday 29th September. Good sport will be expected with a large number of fish in the 2 – 4lb range stocked along with a few bigger ones. Expect good early sport on Damsels, GRHE, pearly P T N, Cats Whiskers, black Tadpole and orange Fritz. The high bank is usually a hotspot for the first few weeks.

Fishing has carried on throughout the summer on the members only waters with Great Pool and Park meadow both fishable during this period. Last week, George Brown, of Sutton Coldfield caught a 10lb 3oz rainbow from a boat on Great Pool which fell to an orange ribbed rubber fly fished on a floating line. Peter Blake of Meriden caught a 5lb fish in his 4 fish catch all taken on small dries from a boat on Great Pool and Brian Coughtrie of Nuneaton took 4 fish on hoppers from Park Meadow.

Myself and Roy (vs) fished there on friday last. Not the best of conditions tbh, pretty flat and bright blue skys.

Was a struggle from the bank, as you'd expect, but, the boats seemed to do pretty well.

That said, Roy had a fish of 4lb+ and i managed a nice brace, one of 3lb 5oz & another of 7lb 1oz. Small damsels worked for us. Most of the fish "seemed to be in front of the "high" bank around 50 yards out. The fish we caught were from either corner of the said bank.Water is very clear at the moment.
