Default Hanningfield....Advice

Hi all,

Fishing Hanningfield for the first time this weekend, can anyone offer some advice, tactics, areas etc? I've seen the recent threads on here, and will also check out the water authority’s website.

Cheers

Hi Howard, I have not fished Hanningfield since June and it has been relatively hard by all accounts, but the bubble line always hold fish if it is on.

I would start with a team of blobs on something like a Di3, unless it is very bright in which case I would make that a Di7. Also, be prepared to try a buzzer or nymph rig if you don't catch on the lures.

I will be interested to hear how you get on as we have a match there in October.

Perhaps you would want to check on TFF magazine as well?
It has a page and comments by 2 regulars on this water. I can't remember if it's the Sept or Oct '07 edition. However it does paint a somewhat rosier picture than some recent comments here

It is actually a great venue - I have fished four matches this year, had limits in all of them including fish close to five pounds and not been on the water later than 3pm.

Two of those I caught on buzzers and two on blobs, so both are relevant.

It just hasn't been great since July, by all accounts. Fished well last autumn.

Cheers Charlie, cheers PiB. I will check out TFF too, if I can find it in the magazine rack!

Will report back for you Charlie, I'll start a new thread.

Regards

Just to confirm it is in the current Oct'07 edition.

Just a few paragraphs by two regular rods; but there are some nice photos and useful links and phone numbers for visitors.

Yup, the comments are from Mark Rooney and Lloyd Pallett - both Hanningfield team members and top anglers as well as being very willing to help newcomers. I have learnt a lot just from talking to them but have not managed to be paired in a boat with either of them yet.

Lloyd just won the Lexus two weeks ago.
