Default Farmoor 22 September

I fished Farmoor from the bank on 22 September. Parked in the south east corner car park and found a comfortable spot to cast and fish just to the west of marker 6. I finished with 5 fish - best 2-12 - one on a black buzzer, one on a dry Griffiths Gnat and three on a dry Daddy Longlegs. Almost all had been feeding hard on a mixture of black and green midge pupae, green daphnia and small terrestrial insects.

A couple of things were noticeable;
  • A number of other anglers in the area were also catching well but those that did best were using dries or buzzers just subsurface, as opposed to lures. Which of course is not to say that on other days at Farmoor, lures aren't exactly the right way to go
  • Surface activity increased markedly with the arrival of each of the passing clouds on the SW breeze
