FISHING REPORT 03/05/11

A 22lb BROWN trout was stocked this week at West House lakes. The fish at 3+ year old was supplied by Willodene Trout Farm. This is probably one of the biggest Brown in the North of England and was one of a batch of 60 Brown trout stocked all at 2lb+
The fishing has been excellent over the bank holliday weekends with 3 double figure figure fish caught this week. Buzzers and dries are working very well in the bright windy conditions
Graham Clarkson landed a lovely rainbow of 21lb from West lake, one of several fish he caught under windy conditions. Peter Slater from Darlington caught 11 rainbows on olive and Green Buzzers his best 12lb. Jonathon Patterson of Ponteland caught 14 fish including rainbows to 11lb and a Brown of 4lb using a variety of Buzzers and Dries. One unusual catch this week was a Tench of 2lb which could not resist a Zonker.

The fishery is now open from 8am – 8 pm 7 days a week

Fished here last Wed.1/6/2011 and to be honest the fish far out fish their weight, had a good day all 2.5-3lb but what a fight; helped another fisherman land a trout and we both thought he was into something special the way it fought but no just 3lb, so give this place ago, I have no affiliation with this place just it's my local water 20mins from home.
