Default Hanningfield

Decided late yesterday to have a go.
The lake was flat calm on arrival and clear blue sky with sun. A few boats out and most headed for the bubble lines.
We headed for the big tower and fished to the right.. There was that green pea algae in the water and it didn't look too inviting. But the odd fish topped and some seen jumping. We worked the area with floater and nymphs.

It wasn't productive at all. A couple of taps and two lost fish. Boats came and went and we could see the boats moving around the boils.

Come the afternoon a nice breeze gave a good ripple but no fish. We moved over to the bubbles and decided to hang onto a bouy. We had found clean water.
Floaters with black and claret buzzers with an orange blob on the point., Fished slow with our feet up to enjoy the sun and aerobatics overhead!
At 3pm the first fish! Then we had action from the trout. All took the buzzers and were full tailed beauties.

Finished the day with limits.

Fished Saturday 15th from the boat. Sunny & warm, light wind/flat calm at times and most areas from boat dock and natural bank to about the middle suffering from loads of green algae and floating slimey stuff. Tried the bubbles which had fished well the weekend before but only catching perch this time. No joy by the tower which also seems to be popular at the moment although did see one or two fish move there and one caught by a guy roly poly retrieving. To get away from the crowds I thought I'd venture into the green stuff and try underneath it on the sinker + booby by the inlet. 4 Good fish to 5lb60z followed and several missed takes. Lots of fish rising here later in the day despite the mucky water. If you don't mind the sinker/booby give it a go - there are a lot of good fish around the inlet. It would be a bit tricky on a floater due to the amount of algae. A day or two of wind might help. Good luck to anyone going - the message is that there are fish everywhere, not just the bubble line and the tower where 95% of boats seem to remain.
