Default Bewl update

I fished Bewl yesterday afternoon with a mate. Quite warm, but conditions a bit changeable with cloud, then sunshine and the wind picking up a bit during the afternoon and dropping in the evening.

We were hoping to see some fry action, but no sign of that. A few fish appeared to be nymphing, boiling on the surface, but looking at the returns book, very few catching in the past day or two.

I did manage two fish around 5pm, fishing an intermediate line; one on a damsel nymph on the point and the other on a bloody butcher on the top dropper. My pal had one take near the water tower, but nothing else after that.

The barometer dropped quite a bit during the day and may have put the fish off feeding. Everyone else we spoke to later said it was very hard and no fish caught.

The two fish I had put up a tremendous fight, with good tails on them.

I think I will wait until next month till I visit there.....

Bewl fished really well last Thursday through to Saturday. A mate of mine fished the three days and took his limit on all days. The fish are well up and the prospects for the rest of this month are very good.

They will continue to stock the lake as apparently they have 2000+ fish still in the cages. The water level is still good for this time of year.

Get down there and experience some good back end fishing.
