Thumbs up Rutland Water

Plenty of fish moving in Old Hall Bay and also in the slack water behind the aireators in the main basin.
I myself caught 4 lovely Rainbow around the 3lb mark and a cracking Brown of roughly 4lb,put back. The colour in the Brown was amazing, not like the usual silver you get there.
All great fighting fish in good condition.
lost 2 and had countless bites all on a white minky fished slowly on a DI5 sweep line.
The fish were stuffed with daffina(spelling???)and quite a few small black buzzers.
Looks as though things are picking up at last!!

Are they within bank range Boab, or still well out. I've been giving it a miss since the dismal July and early August. Have caught plenty of double figure carp on the fly and plenty of trout at Elinor though !!!

Just wondering if it is time to return yet.

Nick

Thor, there was at least 10 on the bank at Old Hall and about 6 at Yellowstone, all regulars i hasten to add so it looks like the sport is starting to pick up again from the bank

khkid and foreignmuck fishing is picking up on the water just now with the south arm showing some good sport.
diawl bachs, buzzers and ptn are working well and for lures try minkies, sparklers, blobs and boobies.
Plenty of fish in the main basin/normanton shore, about 100 yards from the shore down to the church and lodge.
The slack water behind the boils are holding as well.
All in all the sport has picked up with the fish starting to feed!!at long last!!
