Not an answer to your question, but by coincidence I was thinking of giving it a go later too - not fished there before. I tried calling earlier, but the phone was out-of-order. Might see you there.

Did you give it a try Steve? I didn't have time to drive out to Lichfield so went to Brockhill Trout Fishery (nr Bromsgrove) instead. Very pleasant couple of hours, caught a couple on buzzers including my best fish to date (see gallery section )

Yes went, but both of us never had a thing! not even a sniff. Lots of little ones rising, but nothing of any size. Very nice place though, will certainly be going again. Put it down to brightness and not getting the low down. Sounds like you had a much better time!

I think I just got lucky - 2 fish in 10 minutes but not a sniff either side of those 10 minutes. Might try Gailey this evening.

Default Hard times

Fisherwick can be very hard going in the summer, or what we like to call the summer! Once the weather gets a bit colder it fishes its head off. I've been on a winters day when Chris had to get the boat out to smash up the ice, 10 minutes later I had my first fish, albeit I had to bring it in over the ice shelf!

When the weather's hot try a black leech on a sinking line, retrieved very slowly and fish the corner to the right of the office, down from the big oak tree, thinks its deeper there.
