Fished at Farmoor on Friday Pm with my friend Ron Wheeler and I met Royston who was very helpful but sadly we blanked out the weather was a bit cold and wind rose ,we tried several drifts from the top end down to the bottom .
used boobies and di7 lines , changed to Floater & washing line tactics with orange booby on point ,green /black buzzer middle and diawl bach on top on drift (no luck there )
moved inshore just above boat dock used indicator (with hook) 3 nymphs no luck there
wind was cold and we moved down below boat dock, slightly in shore about 5pm saw a few fish moving and some small black flies with a beige wing were hatching off ,sorted through the box and found a similar one ,dressed them with floatant and Ron had a rise to it (darn it missed it) this was the only one Were our tactics wrong what didnt we do we should have done all advice truly welcomed
Fish movement was bleak and tried to cover the ones that did venture up but nothing doing
6.30 came all the hot coffee and hot choclate had been expended Still had a sandwich or two though Despite the 3 coats ,the balaclava and gloves it was bl---y cold so called it a day
Enjoyed the fishing but a fish would have been a bonus .I have returned home to Essex and hope my local Hanningfielsd fishing has improved for another day out

see im still smiling
