Default Where to go this weekend?

All,

Planning on a trip on Sunday, probably Farmoor, Avington or Lechlade - but open minded about trying somewhere new. Any thoughts/advice?

J

It's a bit of a hike from Reading, not thinking to go more than an hour away. Cheers for the idea though.

Looking a bit overcast, so thinking Avington might be a bit of a waste, but do quite fancy a first trip there for the year.

hello not ideal to go if your not happy and if the weather is cold as today might not be best time. i have been asked to bushy friday can let you know. could also phone farmoor see how its going although can be rough in a cold wind. the weather might be better sunday west ways so if not too windy maybe bushy is best bet. anyway i hope you enjoy where ever you fish

I'm quite used to fishing farmoor when it's a bit bleak, there's not a great deal of shelter there. But it's only 30 minutes away, so may be worth a go - if it's not blowing a gale.

Have never tried bushy, could be an opportunity to try my waders (have been in a bag since last summer). J

If your trying to fish somewhere different why not try Blenhiem Palace Fishery, its not far from Reading and at the moment its fishing very well, I fished there Sunday and had a great time.
Don’t be put off by the name its not expensive to fish £35 c/r
The water is slightly coloured at the moment but it is fishing well, ive fished it since it was opened 2 yrs a go the largest fish I have caught was 9lb the smallest 2lb plus nobody fishes there.
Have fun

I've often wondered about Blenhiem, what are the tactics at the moment?

Cheers. John

The fish are taking dawl backs haresear damsel with a very slow retrieve, the big mistake people make when fishing Blenheim is they strip the line back to fast, the water has a flow to it !
