Default Bransford 31st Aug

Fished Bransford in Worcestershire today. Well worth a visit....

Had a couple of 2.5lb rainbows (with very good tails) and a 4lb 8oz Brown.

Got the Brown on a Diawl Bach (stalking it behind the reeds) and the two rainbows on a Natural Daddy. The surface sport was excellent late on and I missed half a dozen takes. I also lost three and caught a very nice crayfish earlier in the day!

The brown was a stunning fish in superb condition (the rainbows were full tailed shahta rainbows as well).

The policy is that all browns go back in the three pools (two catch and keep pools and one catch and release pool) but this one had swallowed the fly so I had to kill and remove. Such a shame. The owner tells me that losing this fish cancelled out the value of my ticket for him!

One of the raibows gave my backing an airing. They really were excellent fighters!

Will definatley be back.....
