Smile Farmoor w/e 26th August

Hello to all, and thanks to those who have reported so favourably on the fishing here at Farmoor.
This last week has not seen the best of fishing, the early strong north winds quickly followed by cloudless skies and sun very quickly sent the fish scurrying to the bottom. Then we had a bit of an algae bloom with the resulting coloured water following on.
That said we did have many anglers bagging up and Mr Bradley took the largest Rainbow so far this season at 7lb 8 ozs.
We have seen some pretty spectacular rises late in the evening giving opportunities to catch on the usual dries, hoppers and yes the daddies are staring to take fish, we haven’t seen any natural daddies yet but the fish seem happy to practice with the artificial.
Black and green lures and boobies continue to take fish at all depths.

I look forward to seeing you on your next visit.

John

Yes the water is clearing, we have a bit of a brown tinge at the moment, but Iv'e been around talking to the anglers this morning and found most have had fish on the bank, skinny black buzzers under an indicator seem to be doing it this morning.

Default Not a good day at Farmoor

Fished on Tuesday - the odd fish moving but nothing to show for it. Tried all methods from buzzers to boobies at all depths.

Looking at the book on the way out everyone was struggling!

Such a shame as I have not fished here for a few years and thought I would give it another go given the reports in this forum.

Perhaps I will try it again sometime.....

Sorry you didn't have much of a day Tuesday, and yes, everyone struggled that day. Wednesday saw a 2.9 rod ave and the and it looks like today may be around the same. Mark, the other Ranger tells me there was a great rise last night.

Do come and have another crack at it, you might get lucky.
