FISHING REPORT 07/04/11

Another 3 doubles caught this week during mild but windy conditions. Most of the fish are being caught on dries or buzzer patterns with 90 % of the activity within the 1st foot under the surface. Black buzzers, Beetles have been working very well
West House is holding a tagged fish weekend on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th April.No extra charges to fish for tagged fish. The lakes will be stocked with a number of tagged fish which are worth prizes including Whiskey, Rod, Day tickets, Fly boxes etc etc. Free Barbecue and Hot and Cold drinks over the 2 days
Fish of the week was a 16lb 10oz fish caught by 69 year old W Stainthorpe of Hartlepool. The fish was caught on a Black tadpole using only 4lb leader. Michael Ball of Northallerton caught a 12lb Rainbow on a Black Buzzer one of 8 fish he caught on this fly. John Peters of Darlington caught an 11lb Rainbow, as well as a 6lb Brown trout on Mill lake, both caught using fry patterns. William Norris landed 17 fish in one session this week using a selection of Buzzers
