Steve

If you search on "Ullswater" there are a number of interesting threads (note the spelling or you will only get your own).

Hope this helps.

Steve,

A bit further south than you but worth a visitis the Ulverston Angling Association water at Knotallow Tarn. Just above Ulverston. It is brownie only. I took a total of 13 fish on a twice n one day visit. Had to go home for tea!

F Fly and Golden Bumble pulled. Lost a fish about 3 to 4 lbs. It jumped onto the fly and went straight into the wed that lies some 3 feetor so under the water surface. From the road walk to the right and fish off the point. Floating line and a 12 foot leader with singlefly seemed to work well. Day ticket is only 12 pounds from the fishing tackle shop Rods and Sods on the Gill in the middle of Ulverston. A great little fishery that I visit every time I venture to the lakes.
