Thumbs up Newton Farm Fife

Decided at the last minute to give Newton a blast today, and im glad i did. Dan is quick to stress that they have only just started, but already things look very good, and given the size of the task they faced even till very recently, its credit to them that the fishery is 95% weed free, and dan was intent on dealing with that tomorrow. New hut is coming, banks have been strimmed and tidied up, areas are to be seeded, a new causeway is to be built, the list is huge!, but they seem comitted and so far have proved as good as their word. Also was good to meet Shepy, off here, a fine chap indeed, who had 16 fish last time i spoke to him and was bent into another as i left, I myself managed 10, and like shepy i think, all mine bar one were on a small black lure on a long leader on a slow glass, very good standard of fish all mine between 2-31/2 lbs and faught like dogs. The only other fly i tried had my last fish, the fish went off a bit so i thought outside the box Di3 and a sunburst blob gave me the 10. The fish seemed to want to chase as a few boys fishing the indicators were blanking. So from not fishing at all i ended up having a crackin wee session a long way to go, but its easy to see where its going
oh aye, an its a tenner for 4 hrs cnr

went along yesterday with a mate, he had 5 i had 11, the fish are well mended and go like stink and its easy to see why when you see the amount of life around the margins, the place is heaving and the fish are loving it. My biggest was around 4 but its the 2 to 2.5 pounders that really go!. The weed situation continues to improve, as does the water clarity. Newton actually looks like a fishery again.
