That doesn't entitle you to catch all of the 8 fish they stocked two years ago you know!! they are down to 4 fish tickets now, as four fish have been caught this year already!!!!

Hi Bob

Fished yesterday and most fish moved into the damn areas 50 yards off the wall finding the cooler water. Best method was wide Silver ribbed buzzers 15-20ft leader. Buzzers had top be worked to be effective so best without bung and medium figure of 8 retrieve being sure to hang at the end for a while, static buzzers produced very little. Fish took at all depths but mostly point so I recommend a weighted point, large buzzer or tungsten bead. Early morning fish can be taken off the top but I never tried so no comment. Best of luck and I hope this helps your visit little.

Dont forget your sun cream Im not angry I'm just showing you the colour of my face after yesterdays fishing.

Mick

Many thanks Mick, hope you cool down soon!!
Will give it a go then with the Buzzers, I suppose a Spider in there too with a silver rib would work!

Fished there yesterday (9th Aug), all in all a very poor day. Not many fish caught, out of 14 anglers 13 fish were caught

We fished from 10 till 6 and conditions I thought were not to bad it was quite bright though with occasional cloud cover. Wind was N - NNE breezy at times, swirling a bit around the reservoir, so some drifts were a bit unexpected . There had been an algae bloom and alot of this had been blown down to the boat jettys and tower area. Water clarity was not very good, very merky in fact.

In the morning odd fish were showing on the surface and this was when most were caught but by 12 the activity had slowed down consideraby with not much showing at all. The fish that were showing IMHO were not feeding.

At the weigh in the biggest fish was about 2lb and majority were around the 1.5lb. Oh yeah and a stickle back in a rainbow trout disguise (nice one Taff).

Best methods were washing line on various lines everyone including myself were swapping all day, although I don't think the fish were that far down 12 - 15 ft at the most. Reccomended flies boobys, crunchers diawl bach and a few were took on dries like bobs bits.

The boat anglers I spoke to that were not in the comp were pretty much the same as ourselves and there were a few blanks and some with one fish. Also the bank anglers did not far any better as their catch returns were nil.

Hope this helps

Ian
