not that im counting but 6 weeks to opening day sounds like theres gonna be some real monsters out there with all this mild weather

I know what you mean Pete, not counting ...but...... cant wait. in the mean time work on my flytying room at work is coming on, then the fur & feathers will fly as i try make something that resembles a fly....

Hope everyone is looking forward to opening day 25th Febuary spoke to Ben recently and it looks like the Stockies would be getting on towards 3lb due to the mild winter, going to be a good opening day can feel it

Hi all, just wanted to mention the North of England fly fishing show (see events thread) or someone more savy than me can put a link up?? We have some great speakers on,
Ben will be there , to chat to about the forthcoming season etc, he has also agreed to do a talk on Stocks, fish rearing , entomology ... etc Nick Halstead will be there to give us a talk plus answer questions give tips etc, Chris Guthrie will also be there doing Q&A on lots of different styles of fly fishing , World team member Scott Nellins will be doing some fly tying, & showing some advanced river tactics such as French leaders etc. We will have Carl Nixon (england youth team Coach)showing us his awsome fly tying skills, he will also answer any questions anybody has on the the youth teams. & I'l be there tying my favourite early season Stocks paterns, & answering any questions etc. there will be loads more going on with shops the welcome return of the Cooksill stand, Celtic Flycraft, & loads more, there will be lots of Stocks regulars there it should be a good show & look forwards to meeting up with you all after the winter lay off, & just days before Stocks open again,.
