flyguy is on a distinguished road
Default Springfield fishery, by Carluke.

My mate and I went yesterday to this wee fishery for an afternoons fishing. We had previously been there about three months prior. Well when we got there we found the "fishing huts" were closed, burned out, the boats were gone, portaloos in the water, piles of burnt rubbish all around the car parking area,.........a right mess.

Needless to say as we were there we decided to fish it anyway, on walking round the place the amount of discarded litter, i mean all sorts, empty food cans, beer cans and bottles, broken chairs, plastic bags............a real mess.

I've no idea who owned it previously, the one and only other time we were there, the welcome was not great but, ok. So if you've been here recently and have left your garrbage behind, congratulations, i'm sure this kind of irresponsible attitude helps the case to put the mockers on any future prospects of new owners taking over.

I'm sure the surrounding farm/s are impressed by all the fires which seem to have been lit all around the banking, and resulting **** left.

When we came off the water we spoke to another guy, who said the "huts" had been broken into twice and that the place had only closed in the last two or three weeks, obviously there had been no stocking since then, and to his knowledge so called "fishers" had been there taking sack loads of fish out, all and any size, ......again thanks a lot

The place has had a lot of weed/reed growth, and would need some TLC to regain some dignity, but if it was then I'm sure it would be a nice wee venue to fish. . . . . . . . . any takers. [ it's wednesday, get your spare £1 on the lottery, you never know !!!!.]
