Thumbs down 2 nets?

Isnt it about time the lake supplied 2 nets for each boat?

There is a strong romour going about that a well known internationalist and top competition angler would not pass his boat partner the net and subsiquintly (spelling), his partner lost the fish which was estimated at over 4lb. he got his just desert though as his partner beat him for weight.

Is this what competition anglers are turning into?

They do supply two nets when there's a competition on (not sure about the boat league). If the incident you refer to happened in a non-competition setting then the angler who was 'refused' the net should reconsider who he goes fishing with.

The Lake is here and beautiful it is too.

You are not allowed to use your own landing net at The Lake of Menteith, as there is a risk of anglers bringing in a virus from another fishery. Some fisheries operate a cleansing dip for landing nets but "The Lake" only allows the use of their nets. The Carron fishery operates similarly and others must do the same.

Many thanks for that!! I am fully enlightened, and what a gorgeous place it looks too!! good sense with the net issue and virus control! I have not encountered it before, but it all sounds like a well run and thought out system I am envious!
