Smile Farmoor status

Farmoor is fishing well, the last four days have seen rod averages of 3.9, 3.6, 2.8 and 3.5.

The RAF held a match here on Thursday 26th and 12 anglers had 65 fish between 10am and 6pm one of their stars bagged up by midday.

The fish are to be found at all depths, the last few days they have been in the first 10' but as the skies clear they go deeper.

The most succesful paterns have been Dawl Bachs (Green & Red), Pearly PT's Skinny Buzzers, Hoppers, Orange fritz lures and of course Bobby's. The Black Booby with green eyes being the most sucessful.

The fish are moving well on the abundance of pin fry and some nice specimens have been coming out.

Best Rainbow caught by Richard Green at 6lb 10ozs
Best brown caught by Pete Jeffery at 8lb 40zs.

Just to confirm what Royston says, I was fishing this match, the biggest fish was 3lb13oz, all the fish were fin perfect, and everybody commented on the way the fish fought!! like steam trains!
The weather was abysmall too, rain, wind and waves, it was still a good day, with most fish falling to green and black or sparkler boobies, with some to nymphs and hoppers.
Big thanks to Royston, Mark and Matt for hosting us, we are all looking forward to the Moscrop Trophy Bank Match next, and congratulations on such and excellant fishery!, clockwise next time Royston please!!!!
