Ravo 25th
The water has greened up somewhat, but is still good enough visibility. We started off on the dries that have taken so many fish for us the past three weeks, and had a couple of fish straight off, and many refusals. After an hour there were less fish showing and nothing intereested in the team of dries so I put an olive booby on the top (damsel imitation !!) and a hares ear and D.B below. The booby livened up the fish, but only with one in ten taking; even so it made for exciting fishing- big bow waves and the occasional spectacular hook up.There was quite a wave (12mph) otherwise I would have been a gentleman and fished a greased up palmer. There were no damsels on the move but by midday there were some big buzzers coming off and the martins and swifts moved in.We had three quite productive drifts before it went quietish again and we decided to pack up about four o/c.Not a bad day. not as many fish as previous trips but plenty of action, which is what counts.
If it is warmer on sunday and the damsels are on the move I think you'll have a good day Charlie- the fish are still definitely looking up!
Good Luck,
GM
