Has anyone fished any of these 3 Midlothian reservoirs in recent weeks ?

I'm looking to do some bank fishing locally next week and wondered what the state of play is at them.

Is the guy at Harperrig ( at the Cairn Castle end) still in business ? For Harlaw & Threipmuir, if you don't manage to get to Balerno Post Office before it closes to buy the permit, does that mean you're stuffed ? What about Sundays ?
