Default Linlithgow Loch

Hi guys, has anyone heard about the stocking for opening day? Normally there are loads of fish put in prior to the 15th but nothing on the website this year. I have a boat booked for the 15th and can't wait. Fingers crossed the snow will be well away by then but it will be thermals anyway and a big flask of tea anyway!

Tight lines.

One of, if not the best, value for money venues in central Scotland.Usually fishes very well at the start of the season.

Saw that on their website too mate!

Got a boat booked for Friday and cannot wait, hoping to contact the over wintered fish. If anything like last season will be fantastic!

Let us know how opening day goes Ally!!

If memory serves me right, brown minkies, cormorants and diawl bachs were successful in the opening weeks along with a selection of the usual lures!
I had my fish on a plain black blob, red bloodworm and black bloodworm!

Really cant wait!!!

Hi Betsy, fished really well today, despite the constant rain that never let up all day!

I had 11 (10 by 12:30) which is the best I have ever done. All taken by the shore just out from the lodge on the right hand side where there is a break in the tree line. Mini green dancer did it for me then I went c&r on a black and green fritz and a small viva on the dropper. Twice I had a double hook up but twice I lost one of the fish. Thankfully not losing any flies in the process. My mate finished with six as well most on the mini green dancer too. Black and green seemed to do the job. Went quiet after lunch with not nearly as many fish getting caught in the afternoon. We stayed in the same area as wasn't going to leave fish to find more. Fish were all in great condition averaging 2 3/4 pounds each, i had a couple at 4lbs.

A number of the fish though had some sort of parasite/worm on them. Light brownish in colour and wiggling about. Stuck on to the fish but were easily removed (with forceps, I wasn't going to touch them!) was suggested they were bloodworms?

I heard there were only 5 fish caught by bank anglers whom I saw on the north shore not sure how the boats did that side?

Very little wind which was a blessing and as I said black and green seemed to be the colours that worked for us today. If anyone else who was fishing there is reading this then let us know how you did.

Tight lines Betsy!

As Ally said - loads of stockies around the Pallace shore - also in the top end shallows in the afternoon - difficult fishing at the bottom end of the loch - water clarity not very good - one guy has a 10lb 4oz o/w fish. - Rain never stopped all day.
