Default Ravensthorpe 10.7.07

Fished from around 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The wind was light and variable in both strength and direction. At times there was good cloud cover.

Started drifting around at the dam end where there were quite a few fish moving and had a couple on a 12s Claret Hopper. Then moved up near the causway and anchored close in to the weed beds where fish seemed to be feeding on hatching damsels as well as the adults. Took several more on an imitations of both stages. All the fish were in top condition, ranging in size from 21/4 to 3lbs.

The imitation of the hatching damsel is really a large olive shuttlecock tied on a 12s long shank hook. Mostly the fish seemed to want it moved slowly. The adult damsel is fashioned from blue foam. This worked best fished static.
