Default Bewl this weekend

Been a few years since I have been to Bewl - what is it fishing like at the moment? Thinking of taking the boy down there on Saturday for a morning session.

Bewl has been fishing reasonably well recently. although it's been harder on windy days. The fish are averaging around 3lbs at the moment and will give you a cracking fight.

Best areas to try from a boat are: around the cages area, Ferry Point to Chingley Wood, Monty's Seat, Bewl Staright and Hook Straight in that order.

Try fast glas/slow glass intermediates with a washing line set up. Orange booby on the point cormorant in the middle and a sparkler on the top dropper.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Default Bewl

Hi Jamie

Took my lad on Friday evening and after a look around we decided to tie up on the bubbles (I'm in for a slating saying that!!). We found that a skinny cats whisker (size 12) worked best but did also manage a couple on the orange blob. Floating line and just let it come round with the current - as Grasshopper says the fish are slabs at the moment with his best taking around 30 yards of backing and tipping the scales at just under 4lbs! Up your leader though - we were using softplus 13.7lb to be safe. Will post some pics tomorrow.

Have a great day

Mike

Keith

You need to bath in Guinness not drink it mate. Also a liberal rubbing of gink on my face seems to do the trick, the bonus being I no longer need a lifejacket.

When do you fancy a day out? On the water for a couple of hours and in the pub for a session by lunchtime!

See you soon

Mike
