I haven't fished Llandegfedd this season yet and I was wondering how it was fishing....

Default Last Week

Competition fished last week was pretty poor with loads of decent anglers fishing , top bag was 4 fish which were all taken really early, after that it just died by all accounts.
I didn't fish but I think most people had 1 or if they were lucky 2 fish
Llandegfedd normally goes quiet now until late August, early September
Good luck ( This was a boat comp by the way )

That's what I've heard fom the Rangers office who are very honest about the prospects there.
Tel: 01291 673722
The Saturday before last 11 boats were out in a comp. but not one caught a fish and it's carried on in that way since.

Thanks for the replies. It's a struggle to find anywhere that is fishing reasonably just now.

Just phoned number above and spoke to Ranger with regards to booking a boat for Saturday. He said the fishing is good at the moment with the fish now off the Pin fry and up in the water responding well to lures stripped.

Default Llandegfedd

Fished Llandegfedd from a boat on Saturday morning.
Wonderful conditions, Sunny spells and a good stiff breeze. When setting up I watched the boats in the dam area taking fish, So opted to try this area first.
When motoring up to start my first drift I noticed most anglers retrieving quite fast, This was also the advice given by the ranger.
So started with an orange blob on a sinking line retrieved "hand over hand"?
It was not long before I had my first fish. I was getting knocks regularly and it was just under two hours to get my four fish limit to this method. All the fish were roughly 1lb 8oz-2lb.

I noticed on the board when paying that it had been recently stocked so this was probably the reason why I had my limit in a short time. Having not fished this ressie for a while I think it offers good value at £22 for a five hour boat and four fish ticket. Not trying to brag this venue up, Just an opinion!

It was over a bit to quick for my liking, But i suppose days like this are few and far between on a 400 acre ressie this time of year!
