FISHING REPORT 08/03/11

The weather is slowly improving and the fishing is getting better and better. Most people have caught this week with 3 doubles being caught including a superb fish of 21lb. The fish are generally to be found in the top 2-3 feet and floating or slow intermediate lines seem to be the order of the day
West house regular Ernie Craster landed a superb Rainbow of 21lb this week. The fish still had the fly in its mouth from a fellow angler who was snapped by the fish earlier in the day. The fish put up a terrific fight on light tackle and was safely returned to fight another day. Peter Johnson of Saltburn landed a 12lb rainbow caught using a Cats Whisker one of 8 fish he caught. Simon Hughes of Darlington caught 7 fish his best a Rainbow of 11lb all caught using Black Zonkers. Peter Rickerby caught 17 fish during a hectic session his best 6lb all caught on Black Buzzers during a sunny afternoon.
The fishery is now open from 8am – 6 pm 7 days a week
