Well had a couple of hours there yesterday, ( wife wanted to see some caravans in Chichester so I made good use of the day on the mainland.

)
Anyway, a bit on the chilly side to start with and tried a Black Marabou Damsel, nothing, not a follow or even the slightest bit of intrest seem to be taken in this offering.
Changed to a fly I made and on the first cast, bang a nice 2lb.5oz. Brownie, time 9-30 A.M.
The better half dissappears into Arundel for some brekky and a look at the shops.
Second cast, bang and I am into another Brownie of 2lb. 4oz. time 9-40 A.M.
Time for a cuppa at the lodge I think.
Came back to the same spot, (under the Willow on South Lake ) changed to a Buzzer but again not the slightest bit of intrest shown, time was now 10-30 A.M.
Caught a glimpse of our car coming back to the fishery so went back to the orginal fly I had caught on and on the second cast straight into my third Brownie of 2lb. 14oz. Quota caught, time was now 10-45 A.M.
Quickest ticket I have filled at Chalk Springs I must admit, O.K. not any monsters caught by me but still had a good couple of hours fishing, strange why no Rainbows found the fly to thier liking just the Browns, Oh well.
Met a couple of guys walking onto the fishery as I was leaving and wanted to know what I had caught on so I gave them a fly each. What were the flies,

something I made.
White Marabou tail. ( Sparse not thick )
Gold Bead Head.
Chartruese Wire Body.
Kamasan B175 size 12 Hook
Hope it worked for the 2 guys I spoke to .
