Fished from mid-afternoon to 9.30 p.m. It was generally cloudy with some bright spells. The wind was generally southerly, brisk at first but dying away later.

Dropped in at North Farm Bay where fish were topping. Tried the usual nymphs fished at the usual speed. Nothing! But when I speeded up the retrieve, a fish hung onto my Diawl Bach. Tried a washing line set-up. Fish would swirl at, but not take, the Cruncher Booby. When the fish started feeding on emergers and dries, I reacted accordingly. Fished slowly they caught nothing but pulled back more rapidly resulted in two more fish.

The evening was rather disappointing. As the breeze dropped, most fish pushed out. Still managed to land one and return another on a 14s GRHE.

The biggesr fish ranged from 1lb 4oz to 2lbs 8oz.

All in all, a propper deal.
