Default The Drift

I'm off to Cornwall this summer - does anyone have any information about a place near Penzance called the Drift?

Thanks

Default Drift

Fished a float tubing comp on there a few months back, not a bad reservoir, loads of small browns around the margins, I caught loads of them !! Rainbows were few and far between , I don't think its stocked that often.
The day we fished it, the wind was howling, there are aerators on there, which fish really well by all accounts, the day we fished they were turned off though.
It looked quite difficult to bank fish, I think that's why tubing is so popular , good luck

Check out website:

Never fished it but had quick look last year. Lots of fish moving on murky day down near dam; steep banks looked a bit tricky.
Didn't have time to walk all around but tempted to fish it this year.

Forget to post back but I fished the Drift about 5 weeks ago. A cracking place. I got talking to the baliff - all details on website. He is more than happy to lend you a float tube and take you out for a try.

I opted to stay dry and spent a few hours on the bank.
It was late afternoon going into early evening. The rainbows were being caught by the 'tubers' out around the aerators but I got two nice fish from the bank (far side of the lake from the boat house)

I then went from a nymph to a dryfly and took three small brownies feeding freely off the surface. The biggest was 9 ins but I saw bigger ones.

A word of warning. Watch out for the swans. There are thousands of them! Reel in and they soon ignore you and move on.

It's a beautiful place... I might even venture out on a tube next time.
